Sisters of pool, Anuja Chandra and Meenal Thakur potted a double whammy over the weekend by winning the pool competitions they competed in.
Chandra, of PSPB was crowned the Maiden 9-Ball champion after out-classing Indira Gowda of Karnataka 5-1 on Sunday. The 2008 National Women’s Pool Championship was held at the ONGC Spring Club in Kolkata.
Anuja was re-living the success which she achieved last year when she became victorious at the 8-Ball National Pool Championships. The newly crowned champ has earned herself eleven titles in total – six in Billiards and three in snooker. Her sister, Meenal displayed similar cue skills and added determination as she took the coveted title which belonged to Anuja last year, and won the 8-Ball title on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the men’s 8-Ball event took place at the same venue and local pool professional Shahbaz Adil Khan, also of PSPB defeated Dharmender Lilly 6-3.
