10-Ball Competition To Take Place In June
The 10-Ball Philippine Pool Tour will take place on June 21-24 in Puerto Princesa City, in Palawan.
The event has been organized by the Billiards & Snooker Congress of the Philippines and was announced by promoters on Monday. The ‘Puerto Princesa Mayor’s Cup’ will accommodate some of the world’s top billiards players at the Puerto Princesa City Coliseum. Raya sports have announced through their web site that Mayor Edward Hagedorn will host the tournament.
According to BSCP spokesman June Diokno, 32 foreign and Filipino players will participate in the forthcoming competition. It is alleged that the foreign players who recently competed in the Mandaluyong Mayor’s Cup on May 6-11 are expected to perform again. Raya Sports added that,
‘They will be joined by even more foreign players, particularly players from Europe, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Thailand.’
The Puerto Princesa Cup will boast a total prize fund of $30,000. The overall winner will receive $10,000 and the remaining prize fund will be allocated accordingly to the remaining categories.
ABS-CBN’s Studio 23 and the Filipino Channel will broadcast the event as the results of the billiards matches unfold.
Entry fees to the up-coming billiards bonanza will cost $50 or P2,100. Members of the Philippine Billiards Foundation will pay only P1,000 to enter.
Online-pool will announce the results of the billiards tournament when it gets underway.
