Glasgow Prepares For The Return Of Snooker

The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre are preparing to host a prestigious snooker tournament for the new snooker season – the Royal London Watches Grand Prix.
The world’s top snooker professionals are preparing for competition this Octoer 11 – 19 in Glasgow. This follows World Snooker’s decision to host the competition in Scotland.
The event will be televised by the BBC and Eurosport. Some of snooker’s top stars have signed up for one of the biggest competitions of the snooker season – these include, defending champion Marco Fu, 888.com World Champion Ronnie O’ Sullivan, Stephen Hendry, John Higgins, and Glasgow’s own, Stephen Maguire.
The Grand Prix first began in 1984 and Dennis Taylor was the first to ever win the event.
The famous tournament will be sponsored by Royal London Watches, who are one of the UK’s leading suppliers of watches, straps and associated products.
A spokesman for World Snooker commented: ‘We would like to thank all the staff at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre for their co-operation and assistance during the last two years. Snooker has a rich history with the AECC and the Royal London Watches Grand Prix has been well supported during this time.’

Tickets for the tournament will go on sale early August and details to book for seats will be available shortly via the SECC box office or online at World Snooker or Secctickets sites.
