Ronnie O’Sullivan has had to face the music over his actions earlier this year when he made rude gestures and suggestive comments at The Honghe Industrial China Open.
The recent disiplinary hearing was conducted by The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association for Ronnie’s inappropriate actions in China a couple of months ago. The potter from Chigwell offended the Chinese people and press by suggesting they ‘su** his di**.’ Whether or not Ronnie’s offensive behaviour was deliberate, his comments were picked up by the chinese media and this week he has had to face his punishment.
Ronnie’s cheeky antics have cost him a small fortune. He has had to hand over £2,750 of his prize money and an extra £1,000 for further costs due to disciplinary action take by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association.
During the China Open, Ronnie had earned himself a respectable 700 ranking points which he had accrued in the first round of the tournament. Luckily for the Rocket, his punishment for his lewd behaviour hasn’t affected his curent status as world snooker champion.
