Reyes Seeks Redemption
Efren 'Bata' Reyes is hoping to break his recent form by redeeming himself at the upcoming First Senate President Manny Villar Cup. The next round is the Bacolod leg which commences on November 13th to 16th at the Garden Royal Function Hall of Goldenfields Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.
The last time Reyes won a title was at the Derby Classic in Louisville, Kentucky in January 2007. Despite the Billiard’s stars recent hardship on the table, he is still regarded as a legend, and always gives his opponents a reason to fear his capabilities as one of the most talented and skilled cue artists around today.
The 54yr old Filipino star came close to winning a title earlier this year. He made it through to the final of the inaugural stages of the Villar Cup in May, held in Albalang. Reyes was defeated by Warren Kiamco.
Reyes will be joined by fellow Filipino stars, and other world class players. Guinness 9-Ball champion Yan Ching Shun, of Chinese Taipei will also be in the running for the title and the $15,000 prize pot. Other stars include former world champion Wu Chia-Ching, Wang Hung-Hsiang, and Chang Jung-Lin, also of Chinese Taipei.
The event is supported by the Bacolod Global Entertainment Marketing Services Corporation, Bugsy Promotions and Puyat Sports.
Joining Reyes are fellow former titlists and reputable players, Alex Pagulayan and Ronnie Alcano along with Francisco Bustamante, Lee Van Corteza and previous Villar cup winners Warren Kiamco, Gandy Valle, Ramil Gallego, and Roberto Gomez.
